Turkey has undertaken major reforms to transform and improve the health system and its outcomes. The objective of this presantation is to analyse the reforms and health system strengthening efforts that led to these improvements in order to share lessons learned with other countries seeking to transform their health sectors.

This presantation documents the key achievements in health system performance that occurred between 2002 and 2011 resulting from the Health Transformation Program (HTP) in Turkey. It then analyses how these results were achieved and highlights the lessons that derive from the Turkish experience. Finally, it discusses the new and continuing challenges facing the Turkish health sector.
